THE POSITION: Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS: Proper Kentucky Certification

Not related to Superinentdent of Schools or member of board of education.

 

 

The Nicholas County Board of Education is seeking a passionate educational leader who has strong proven leadership skills to continue the tradition of student achievement as the district’s next superintendent. The successful candidate should have experience as an instructional leader with strong knowledge of Kentucky school finances.

Along with being an innovator and an effective motivator, candidates should possess a strong working knowledge of current Kentucky Education System threads including best practices for enhancing student achievement. It is important for the candidate to have the ability to effectively communicate and meet the needs of all staff and students in a fair and consistent manner that promotes teamwork.

The Nicholas County School District has a long history of supporting public education. The latest assessment results show that its high school students scored above the state average of proficient and distinguished students in end of course assessments in English, U.S. History, and Biology.

Nicholas County, with its beautiful landscapes of gently rolling hills, is only a 40 mile drive along US. Highway 68 from Lexington. Its superb location enables residents to travel only 75 miles north to Cincinnati to experience the cultural and educational events of a vibrant urban setting. Carlisle is also home to Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park, the site of the last battle of the Revolutionary War.

Kentucky Superintendent certification is required.
