Nonresident Application for the 2026-2027 school year is now open from June 16-July 15!
Thank you for your interest in Nicholas County Schools. Students in grades K-12 living outside of the district may attend Nicholas County Schools by applying for admission to our nonresident program. As part of the review process, capacity at each grade level, student records from the 2025–2026 school year including attendance, academic performance, and disciplinary records, will be reviewed to determine eligibility for enrollment or continued enrollment as a nonresident student for the 2026–2027 school year.

Complete the Application for Nonresident Enrollment below.

Email the following documents to alicia.hughes@nicholas.kyschools.us:

Report card, transcript or other academic information

Report of student’s behavior or conduct

Statement of student’s attendance

If applicable, documentation regarding any services or accommodations required to educate the student (Individualized Education Plan, Section 504 plan, etc).
If the student was enrolled in Nicholas County Schools for the 2025–2026 school year, the district will access academic, attendance, and behavior records through Infinite Campus. No additional documentation is required from the parent/guardian at this time.
**Please note that submitting the Google Form application secures your student's place on the list. However, your application will not be processed until it has been determined that enrollment capacity exists AND all documentation is received. This determination will take place on or before July 20 and parent/guardian will receive an acceptance notification via email. **
Transportation will not be provided to any resident address outside of the Nicholas County School District.
